About Me

My name is Shara McGlothan

I help ambitious entrepreneurial couples find balance in living out their truest, authentic Self while building their businesses in a supportive, connected relationship.

Pursuing Your Purpose & your Partner

From the outside, it may look like things are working. You’re driven. Creative. Constantly pursuing growth.

But behind the scenes, your relationship, your business, and yourself are all suffering.

You barely have time together, but when you do, conversations quickly turn into tension, shutdowns, or arguments about money, schedules, priorities, or emotional support.

You have a flood of ideas you want to pursue but there is never enough time, knowledge, money, or energy,

You keep telling yourselves this pace is temporary.
But the overworking, emotional distance, and resentment have quietly become the routine.

You’ve tried:

  • pushing through and waiting it out with things just worsening

  • ChatGPT but all you get is feedback you don't know how to implement

  • self-help books and podcasts that provide skills you fail to apply

  • problem-solving but conversations and thoughts just go in circles

  • weekly therapy that felt difficult to sustain or left you feeling emotionally flooded and mentally depleted

And despite all the insight, you still find yourselves lying awake at night overthinking, disconnected, and unsure how to move forward without sacrificing either the relationship or the dream.

But you do not have to choose between meaningful work and meaningful connection. You can have both.

Therapy Intensives Create Space
for real Change

Untitled design (4).png

Therapy intensives are for those who need more than surface-level conversations squeezed into a 50-minute session.

Intensives offer focused, intentional space to slow down, understand the deeper patterns underneath conflict, and begin creating meaningful change in real time.

Rather than spending months circling the same issues, therapy intensives allow us to:

  • identify the emotional patterns keeping you stuck

  • understand how childhood experiences, attachment wounds, and survival strategies impact your relationship

  • work through burnout, resentment, and emotional disconnection

  • practice healthier communication with direct support and feedback

  • reconnect with your values, your relationship, and yourselves outside of productivity and pressure

Transformation is a process, but you do not have to wait months to begin experiencing clarity, insight, and movement. You can build a relationship that supports both ambition and connection. One does not have to come at the expense of the other.

Are you Ready...

to get out of this cycle that is getting you nowhere and start making real movement forward?

my Approach

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS helps you understand your inner world and the different “parts” of yourself that developed to protect you.

The overachiever.
The perfectionist.
The people-pleaser.

Rather than fighting these parts, we work toward understanding them with curiosity and compassion so you can respond in a way that's more like you.

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR helps process unresolved experiences and trauma that continue impacting the nervous system, relationship dynamics, and sense of self.

Many ambitious individuals unknowingly operate from survival patterns rooted in past experiences. They're constantly proving themselves, overworking, struggling to rest, or fearing failure and rejection.

EMDR helps reduce emotional overwhelm, create distance from distressing experiences, and strengthen your ability to feel more present, regulated, and connected.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT helps couples understand the deeper emotions and attachment needs underneath conflict.

Often the argument is not actually about the dishes, the money, or the schedule. It is about feeling unseen, unsupported, rejected, unsafe, or alone.

EFT helps couples identify these underlying patterns so they can move from cycles of defensiveness and disconnection toward emotional safety and secure connection.

Gottman Method

The Gottman Method provides practical tools for healthier communication, conflict resolution, and connection.

Together, we work on improving communication patterns, rebuilding trust, increasing emotional attunement, and creating interactions that help both partners feel heard, respected, and valued.
